About QueerJoyFest

WIMINFEST was a joyful, inclusive, lesbian+ celebration of women's culture that happened in ABQ from 1985-2005. After a 20-year absence, amid this current political climate, our strength, diversity and unity need celebrating more than ever before. We are producing a comeback that welcomes everyone in the LGBTQIA2S+ community: QueerJoyFest.

Join us Saturday, May 30 at Kiko Theater for a celebration filled with joy, inclusivity and connection! Doors open at 7 pm.

Featured Artists

Portrait of Marga Gomez

Marga Gomez

Marga Gomez (playwright, comedian, actor) is known for her work in solo theatre and for being one of the first openly lesbian stand up comics in the nation. She has appeared on LOGO’s “One Night Stand Up,” Showtime's "Latino Laugh Festival,” Comedy Central’s “Out There" and HBO’s “Comic Relief” at the invitation of the late Robin Williams who called her “Amazing… a lesbian Lenny Bruce.”  Marga is the writer/performer of fifteen solo plays which have been presented Off-Broadway, nationally and internationally.

Portrait of Joy Clark

Joy Clark

Louisiana born-and-raised singer-songwriter and guitarist Joy Clark is charting her own path with her debut album Tell it to the Wind. As the youngest of five children born into a tight knit, deeply religious family just outside of New Orleans, her release is both a declaration of her independence and a love letter to the traditions that shaped her.

The album marks Clark’s arrival on the national stage as a proud, queer, Black woman blending the social consciousness of folk, the rhythms of Southeast Louisiana, and the soul-centered music she grew up with.

Portrait of Kristy Lee

Kristy Lee

Kristy Lee isn’t just a performer — she’s a weather system. With a voice that can hush a room one moment and shake the walls the next, she’s built a reputation for leaving audiences both wrung out and lit up. Born on the Gulf Coast and raised on grit, gospel, and a fierce streak of independence, Kristy’s songs carry the salt of the sea and the smoke of late-night dives. On stage, she’s all-in, every time — no half measures, no autopilot. Every show feels like the most important one yet, because in her world, it is. Whether she’s commanding a festival stage, breaking hearts in a packed listening room, or turning a living room into a sanctuary, Kristy delivers music the way it was meant to be felt: raw, soulful, and unforgettable.
